Compatibility Notes

Cross-build findings that didn't fit in any single build's notes. The point of this file is so the next build doesn't repeat the last build's surprise.

Add an entry whenever you discover a non-obvious compatibility fact — supplier tolerance drift, a foot pattern that didn't match a published spec, a crystal seat that came in undersized, etc.

The compatibility chain (verify every build, before any order)

Every part must be cross-verified before money moves:

  1. Movement crown position vs case — 3.0 vs 3.8 vs 4.0 must match.
  2. Dial diameter vs case dial seat — 28.5mm is standard for NH-series cases.
  3. Dial foot positions vs movement foot pattern — must match (or be trimmable).
  4. Crystal OD vs case crystal seat — confirm the seat dimension with the supplier; do not estimate from dial opening or external case OD.
  5. Hand tube IDs vs movement pinion ODs — must match exactly. NH38A: H=1.5 / M=0.88 / S=0.20mm.
  6. Movement height + dial + hands stack vs case depth — confirm the case will close.
  7. Lug width vs strap/bracelet — Watch 001 = 20mm.

If any of these can't be verified from the spec, say so explicitly and confirm with the supplier before ordering.

Reference data

Seiko NH3x family — pinion sizes

(Hand tubes must match these exactly. Confirm against Seiko spec sheet for your specific NH variant.)

Seiko NH3x family — dial foot patterns

(To be filled in — confirm against Seiko spec sheet before first dial order. Watch 001 dial: 3.0/9.0 feet, trimmable to 3.8.)

Lume types

Rule: match lume type across dial and hands within a build. Mismatching is visible in the dark and looks sloppy. NamokiMODS standard is C3; DSWatch standard is C1 — watch for the conflict.
